However fresh vegetables may be, if they are
stored incorrectly, they will decay and become
wrinkly and bitter in no time at all. Allow us to
give you some advice on how to avoid this:
For retailers: Vegetables retains their optimal
state of freshness in storage facilities with a
relative humidity of 80 to 95% and a
temperature of 0-10ºC (see Table).
For consumers: Never store fruit and
vegetables together. Some fruit produces
ethylene which vegetables don’t tolerate
and as a result of which will age quicker.
